“AI as a tool for service planning”
In their presentation ‘Forecasting service order duration with the help of machine learning’, Ruud Kockelkorn, Managing Director PeachGroup and Maximilian Klein, Solution Consultant at mobileX AG, provided a brief introduction into the topic of AI. And they gave a deeper insight how field service organizations can benefit from predictions for future events using machine learning as a subcategory of AI. In this way, service organizations can reach a new level of efficiency.
PeachGroup Heerlen improves the service and maintenance processes of organizations by maximizing the potential of innovation cycles. Utilizing an agile approach, PeachGroup focusses on optimizing service and maintenance processes based on i.e. solutions of mobileX.
mobileX AG Munich develops solutions within the field resource planning and mobile solutions for service as well as mobile maintenance. Customers come from the industries plant and mechanical engineering, energy supply, healthcare, facility management, IT and telecommunications.
In the BeNeLux and in the North-West part of Germany PeachGroup and mobileX are teaming up within the field of service organizations.
Ruud and Maximilian showed how AI and Machine Learning enables planning processes to become more adaptive. Using historical data molded in a proper way creates the possibility to give relatively precise forecasts about future service incidents, e.g. order duration, needed spare parts or interference volume.
Client cases were used to show ins and outs more in detail and also showed benefits of using AI and machine learning: Saving of working time in dispatching, optimizing of the technician’s workload, improvement of customer and employee satisfaction and elimination of the effort for analyzing historical service order times.
Looking at the various questions throughout the webinar and during the Q&A at the end, this is an interesting topic that is very alive at many companies. As one of the participants summed it up very aptly: “Food for thought’”.
Thank you Ruud and Maximilian for your very interesting views on AI and machine learning and thanks to the audience for paying attention and putting questions.
