Service Logistics in Maintenance as a Service

Date: December 1
Time: 15.00 - 16.00
Location: Online
Titel: Service Logistics in Maintenance as a Service

By Liselot Gerritzen
After the opening, done by Ben Grave as chairman of the SLF, the webinar started with a contribution of Ruben Coetsier and Bert Appels, senior consultants of PwC. At PwC a study has been conducted on service maturity. The study and outcomes are of great value to the service logistics domain. It clearly defines the steps on the, so called, servitization ladder. The servitization ladder, as a concept of development, we use more and more to identify the stage and growing path of service businesses. After this framing part we listened to Koen Appels, Director Services at Scania Benelux who showed us how this works for Scania. Their service journey has been going on for some time now and several hurdles popped up and were taken during this journey. It brought them to Scania 4.0, the actual situation, where Scania takes the next steps in growing their service business. Koen used their masterpiece, a project with the Dutch department of Defence, to highlight the success of their approach. Last but not least we zoomed in on a specific aspect of the service journey, namely the pricing strategy of service contracts. Prof. Robert Boute of the KU Leuven is a specialist on this topic and pricingstrategy is subject of research at his department. Together with his colleagues prof. Robert Boute delivered a report with valuable information and grip for all of those that are struggling with their pricingstrategy. They created models based on practical data that enables companies to determine beneficial servicecontracts. The Service Logistics Forum would like to thank all contributors to this open and informative webinar and welcomes your feedback on this and other topics that interest you.
