Twice a year, the SLF members from the knowledge institutions meet each other online. The first meeting of this year was held on 22 January 2025.

Twice a year, the SLF members from the knowledge institutions meet each other online. This meeting was also held on 22 January. There have been discussions on what the knowledge institutions want to get out of their relationship with SLF. Not surprisingly, they are very interested in the contacts with companies and their representatives: To hear what’s currently hot in industry and to eventually set up joint research projects. More surprisingly, also the connection between universities and universities of applied sciences was mentioned. This is something that we want to facilitate as well, and we need to discuss as SLF board how to do that. Further discussions were on funding opportunities, a topic that was introduced by Bas van Bree of Dinalog. He also introduced the topic of military logistics. We probably all notice more attention for Defence, and as SLF members we understand that improving the service logistics can be as important as developing a new type of fighter or tank. Fortunately, this understanding seems to be spreading in the Ministry of Defence as well.
